is a small applied research lab working on the future of learning. We are a group of engineers, researchers and designers who believe anyone can learn anything.
"Started at the bottom
now we here"
Growing up, I was always behind in class, and about 2x slower than everyone else. I realised I was not made for the classroom system, especially as someone with ADHD. I like to get my hands dirty. I like to experiment. I like to learn while talking and walking about. Not sitting in a 25 person classroom, day dreaming for 60 minutes.
It was not until I taught myself through late high school and university that I found a real passion for learning and studying. I learnt study methods that eventually took me to Computer Science at Oxford. I've worked across institutions, from the United Nations to building million dollar products with people from McKinsey, Goldman Sachs, and gold medalist physicians.
But the part I kept coming back to was always learning.
An education system that makes you feel like you're the problem.
Imagine strolling through a glimmering meadow, observing trees, feeling the breeze, and engaging in dialogue. Doesn't feel like a class, does it? But that's how the great philosopher Aristotle taught.
Learning should feel like a conversation. Peripatetic. Someone sees what you are missing, guides you to the next step, and keeps you moving. Learning is not meant to be trapped in a stuffy classroom. Some of the clearest thinking happens while walking, sketching, debating, testing, and trying again.
NoTears is my attempt to build that kind of learning into a tool. It will never be perfect. But even the slightest shifts can compound into massive outcomes you could never have predicted. Just like the buttery effect in chaos theory.
NoTears is the tool I wish I had when I was in school and university.
